Dual Fuel Engine

DF or Duel Fuel Engines are the kind of engines that can work on a mixture of gas fuel or diesel fuel or it could operate on diesel fuel alone. Duel Fuel engines could not run on gas alone because they do not posses an ignition system, nor do they have any spark plugs.

As the engine is not a pure diesel engine and diesel is not a pure gas, this machinery does suffer from poor fuel efficiency and Methane slippage. Like for instance, the fuel efficiency may be 5% to 8% less than in a comparable lean-burn, spark-ignited engine at 100% load. It could even be lower or higher loads.

Lift Truck Fuel Sources and Classifications

There are certain applications that have proved difficult for the forklift. For example, scrap metal is among these issues. In order to successfully handle things like this needs utilizing the right type of machine for the task.

There are 7 major lift truck classes, including power sources like hydrogen fuel cell, liquid propane gas, electric, gasoline and diesel. The power source is linked to several of these specific classes. The main power sources for forklifts include Diesel, Gasoline, Battery, Propane and Fuel Cell.

The most popular overall are electric powered trucks, mainly in Class I, II and class III forklifts. In Classes V and IV, internal combustion trucks are more common. The most common electric power source is the lead-acid battery. Amongst internal combustion trucks, approximately more than 90% are propane powered.

The most popular power source for lift trucks is battery. Battery fueled models make up roughly 60 percent of the new forklifts sold within the United States. Their benefits include: quiet operation, less maintenance requirements, the ability to be used inside and outside with no harmful emissions.
