Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names including: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk along the machinery as they lift and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and transport tall or unstable loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the best answer if you are looking for a cheap method for moving loads from one location to another. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Normally, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can work in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
