In certain environments, enclosed operator cabs could be a good option for protecting employees from harsh conditions. Dual and panoramic rear view mirrors are available to enhance operator visibility, particularly of the tail swing area and the area behind the forklift. To prevent lift trucks from rolling when the driver intends to stop, an auto park brake is an optional feature that can be added. The approved construction standards and in particular the UL GS, LPS, DS underwriter laboratory rating labels will tell the driver whether the unit is outfitted with added resistance to spark creation. If there is a problem, there is a mechanical main battery disconnect. An EE UL rating means that the lift truck can be used in work areas where arcs or sparks from electrical equipment could ignite airborne deposits.
