Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescoping booms lifts are designed to mount a work bucket on a straight, extendable arm which is located on a rotating turntable. Usually, telescoping boom lifts are used for jobs which need reaching at maximum height, exceeding other types of lifts. For instance, workers can carry out exterior renovations or repairs on buildings of medium height but using these lifts as opposed to having the extra work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.
The bucket of the boom lift generally just holds one employee. These buckets are better suitable to particular tasks such as electrical repair, as opposed to window washing or general maintenance. These lifts are available in gas or electric configurations and are available with both outdoor and indoor tires.
Scissor Lifts
Underneath the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machinery gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. As these kinds of machines must be positioned directly below the work site, these units are way more limited in their use compared to boom lifts.
The scissor lift typically has a bigger platform which allows the operator to control the lift to access a bigger work area once the lift platform is raised off the ground. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of a problem with these kinds of equipment, since they should sit on flat ground in order to be used. Scissor lifts are great for being used for cladding or window installation, since they provide the employees with the desired mobility; they are also a great choice for exterior repairs or window cleaning applications.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Cherry pickers, boom trucks and bucket trucks each refer to the class a kind of utility vehicle used specifically for vertical work. Usually, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and operates the machine. There is a bucket for where the employee can stand in addition to an actuator arm for raising the boom and a winch for carrying.
Boom trucks take employees to heights that would normally be inaccessible. The function of cranes is to raise heavy supplies or equipment from one place to another. There are a variety of different crane types which could carry out a variety of purposes. Both of these different types of machines excel at various tasks and are great for particular applications and completing particular tasks.
